HOT TUB RULES ARDLUI RETREAT
We want you to fully enjoy the hot tub in a safe environment.
Please exercise common sense, especially when children are around. Children under 16 and above the age of 5 must be supervised when using the hot tub. Please see your Stay Conditions & Safety Information for more detail. Solo bathing is prohibited for safety reasons.
In case of emergency, it is important that you familiarise yourself with the location of the trip switch, located at the rear of the lodges, and on the deck at The Retreat Main Residence. This will cut the power supply to the hot tub and stop the circulation pumps in case of emergency.
Please refer to your Stay Conditions & Safety Information.
When using the Hot tubs please ensure the following:
• Shower before entering the hot tub.
• Swimsuits are required.
• No jumping or diving at any time.
• Enter and exit the hot tub with care.
• No one under the age of 5 years old can enter the hot tub for any reason.
• Children between the age of 6 and 15 years old can enter the hot tub although must be accompanied by an adult at all times with a limit of 20 minutes per session due to the risk of dehydration and overheating.
• Seek medical advice before use if you are pregnant, have existing/pre-existing health problems (i.e., heart condition, diabetes, high or low blood pressure or any other serious illness) if you are taking any medications and/or receiving treatment.

Do not take babies or small children into the hot tub.
If you are staying in a Pet Friendly Lodge, please do not allow your dog in the hot tub as the heat and chemicals are hazardous to them.
Use the cover lifter to raise the lid, and please remember to replace the lid after use, pulling the skirt down around the edge. We have cover lifters on every hot tub to make this easier for you. Please lock the cover back in place using the straps so that children can’t accidentally access the tub. Even if you yourself have come without children, there will be others around who can be inquisitive.
Please note that the hot tub cover is not designed to take any weight., therefore you are asked not to sun bath on, use the hot tub cover as a baby changing mat, trampoline, climbing frame, or to put any body weight or otherwise on the lid to the hot tub.
Please do not place dogs on the hot tub cover. The covers are for insulation. They may look solid, but they are filled with polystyrene which is not designed to bear weight, and they deteriorate very quickly if the insulation breaks.
The Spa cover for the main residence is by key fob. Do not use the hot tub in very windy weather, we are on an exposed site, and high winds could rip the covers and lifters from the tub, causing considerable damage. If there is a risk of adverse weather, we will strap the covers down with additional protective straps.
Do not use oils, soaps, or any detergent in the water.
In the interests of safety do not use glassware in the hot tub. Quality reusable polycarbonate glasses are supplied for your use in the hot tub.

For safety do not Jump into the water or play ball games.
Control buttons are sensitive and only need to be pressed lightly once to operate the hot tub.
For safety reasons do not immerse your head in the tub, especially if you have long hair. There is a risk that the circulation pump could trap hair, holding your head underwater and presenting a drowning risk.
In the unlikely event of this happening, please immediately use the circuit breaker to stop power to the unit, which will stop the pump.
Hot tubs are not designed to be in use for hours at a time. If the cover is open for long periods of time the temperature of the water will start to reduce. The only way to increase the temperature is to exit the hot tub and close the cover. The temperature will then start to rise

Whilst operating the jet skis we ask guests to act responsible and not take unnecessary risks whilst on hire.
Protection software is enabled on our jet skis which produce and audible alarm when skis get within 20 metres of each other. This is to warn guests they are travelling to close to another ski and to take immediate action to resolve this. When using the skis guests must always stay at least 20 metres apart to avoid the potential risk of a collision.
To use the Jet skis guests must be over 18 for single use. However, under 18’s are permitted to travel as a passenger, only when the lead driver is above the age of 18. At no point should anyone under the age of 18 become the lead driver during the hire.
If damage is caused to any of the Skis whilst on hire and Ardlui Retreat deem this has been caused due to negligence by the guest or by not following the 20-meter distance rule, the lead guest on the lodge/house booking would be responsible for any costs to resolve any damage.
Any guest deemed under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of hire would be deemed unfit to complete the hire, therefore any charges taken in respect to the hire session would be non-refundable. Session hires cancelled by us for this reason would be non-transferrable.

Your credit cannot be used against a booking in a different lodge. If the price due for your new booking is more than the credited amount the difference is payable. If the price due is less than the credited amount, the difference is non-refundable. We strongly recommend you take out holiday insurance which includes cancellation expenses.

Ardlui Retreat will ensure that its use of the CCTV system and the personal data that it captures complies with the law.
The purpose of the CCTV system is:
• To increase the personal safety of our staff and guests.

The images captured by the CCTV System will not be stored for any longer than is required to achieve the purposes identified above. CCTV footage will automatically be deleted on a 28-day rolling basis, unless specific images are required to deal with an incident or to respond to a request by an individual made under the law.
Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) / Number Plate Recognition (NPR) Cameras
In addition to our existing closed-circuit television (CCTV) system, Ardlui Retreat operates Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR), also referred to as Number Plate Recognition (NPR), cameras at the premises. These cameras capture vehicle registration marks (VRMs), timestamps, and images of vehicles entering and leaving the site.
We use ANPR cameras for the following purposes:
- To enhance the security of the premises, staff, guests, and property by monitoring vehicle access and helping to deter and investigate unauthorised entry, theft, vandalism, or other incidents. • To manage guest vehicle arrivals, departures, and parking during stays, including associating vehicles with current bookings for access control, operational efficiency, and guest safety. • To support our overall health, safety, and asset protection measures.
One ANPR camera is primarily dedicated to general site security monitoring. The other focuses on guest vehicle movements in and out of the premises.
Vehicle registration data and associated images constitute personal data under data protection law because they can identify individuals connected to the vehicle. Ardlui Retreat ensures that all ANPR processing complies with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Retention of ANPR Data ANPR data is retained only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out above, in line with the data minimisation and storage limitation principles:
- Data from the security ANPR camera is retained on the same rolling basis as our CCTV footage (typically deleted after 28 days) unless specific images or data are required to deal with an incident, investigation, complaint, or legal claim. • Data captured specifically for guest vehicle monitoring will be deleted or cancelled at the end of the guest’s stay (upon checkout or departure from the premises). This data will not be kept longer unless it is necessary to retain it to investigate an incident, handle a damage claim, respond to a complaint, or comply with a legal obligation.
Access to ANPR data and recordings is restricted to a limited number of authorised Ardlui Retreat personnel. We may disclose relevant data to law enforcement agencies or other competent authorities where we are legally required or permitted to do so. We do not use ANPR data for marketing purposes or sell it to third parties.
Ardlui Retreat has assessed (and, where required, will complete a formal Data Protection Impact Assessment for) the necessity and proportionality of using ANPR technology.
